Abstract

A study conducted by the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases Ismael Cosio Villegas in Mexico City explores the role of membrane rafts, specifically caveolins and flotillins, in lung cancer. The study highlights the importance of genetic factors in the development and progression of lung cancer, in addition to the well-known association with tobacco smoking. The researchers summarize the current understanding of the involvement of caveolins and flotillins in lung cancer from a molecular perspective. This research provides valuable insights into potential targets for the treatment and prevention of lung cancer. [Extracted from the article]
