Abstract

China's space program has made significant advancements, positioning it as a competitor to the United States. It has achieved milestones such as stationing components of a permanent space station, sending taikonauts to the station, and landing a robotic lander on Mars. The Chinese government has made space a priority, revising its National Defense Law and increasing its space budget. China's space program is driven by a desire for global dominance, national security, technological advancement, and economic integration. However, the implications of China's presence in space are complex and may divert attention from global cooperation. China's space program involves both civil and military sectors, with support for a growing private space industry. The government has established innovation hubs and incubators to support space-related start-ups. China aims to establish a favorable geopolitical order and has formed partnerships with countries like Russia and European states to enhance international collaboration. China's rise as a space power has already impacted the global space order, and it seeks to achieve parity with the United States in the future. [Extracted from the article]
