Abstract
- This editorial provides an overview of bioarchaeological research in East Asia, focusing on the progress made in the field. The research topic includes 12 articles contributed by Japanese and Chinese scholars, divided into review articles and original research. The review articles cover topics such as radiocarbon dating, ancient DNA, rice domestication, and bioavailable Sr isoscapes in China, while the original research articles present analytical results from animal assemblages, human skeletons, and red substances. The research provides valuable insights into the biocultural evolution of human ancestors in East Asia and offers a platform for scholars interested in the region to communicate and exchange knowledge.
