Abstract

The Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has submitted a memorandum to the Ministry of Finance with several suggestions for the mining industry. They propose the creation of a task force to assess the problems faced by existing units and explore the possibility of reviving closed units. The GCCI also recommends no new taxes or increases in existing taxes, the establishment of a Mass Transport System for easy commuting, and the rationalization of stamp duty for the mining industry. Other suggestions include the modification of certain programs, the provision of public transport for night shift workers, and improvements to water and power distribution systems.
