Abstract

This article discusses the importance of considering the direction and amount of natural light when choosing colors for different rooms in a house. North-facing rooms, which receive little direct sunlight, tend to make colors look flatter and cooler, so warm colors with undertones of yellow, orange, red, and green are recommended. South-facing rooms, which receive warm, bright light all day, can handle most colors, but cooler hues like whites, pale blues, greens, and greys with a blue undertone are suggested. East-facing rooms, which greet the sunrise, can benefit from neutrals with cool green or blue undertones or vibrant colors, depending on the room's use. West-facing rooms, which receive afternoon sun and warm evening light, can use cooler hues if used in the evening and warmer colors if used in the morning. The article provides specific color recommendations for each direction. [Extracted from the article]
