Abstract
- The biochemical composition of raspberry fruits at two different planting distances was investigated. Cultivars, such as Willamette, Meeker, Samodiva and the candidate cultivar Magdalena from the collection plantation of RIMSA-Troyan were included in the experiment. The planting material was produced in vitro. Planting distances are: 0.30 m and 0.50 m in the intrarow area of the plantation and 3.00 m in the inter-row spacing. The highest content of ascorbic acid was recorded in both variants of Willamette cultivar with 22.80 mg%. The highest amount of total sugars was found in the fruits of Willamette (0.30 m – 2.40%) and the candidate cultivar Magdalena (0.50 m – 2.70%). Variants with smaller plant spacing in Meeker and the candidate cultivar Magdalena had higher total polyphenol content (196.74 mg%; 204.13 mg%). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
