Abstract
- A report from Newcastle University in the United Kingdom explores the associations between adult attachment, pain catastrophizing, psychological inflexibility, and disability in adults with chronic pain. The study found that attachment anxiety was positively associated with pain disability, while attachment avoidance was not. The relationship between attachment anxiety and pain disability was partially mediated by pain catastrophizing and psychological inflexibility, while the relationship between attachment avoidance and pain disability was fully mediated by these factors. The researchers recommend further longitudinal research on the topic. [Extracted from the article]
