Abstract

The article discusses the results of a survey on R&D trends for 2024 conducted by the Innovation Research Interchange. The survey gathered information from R&D and innovation leaders about their past year's activity and budgets, as well as their expectations for the upcoming year. The survey found mixed views on spending in 2023, but optimistic expectations for the future. Factors affecting the difference between actual and projected budgets included changing business and market conditions. The survey also highlighted the importance of collaborations, particularly alliances, in innovation strategies, and identified digitization, renewable energy and materials, artificial intelligence, big data, digital collaboration, and simulation technologies as important for the next three years. Overall, the survey indicates a focus on new product growth, sustainability, and digitalization in innovation strategies. [Extracted from the article]
