Quadruple Helix Stakeholders' Interest in the Global Landscape of AI.

A paucity of Big Data analysis has characterized research on the "Quadruple Helix"; that is, interactions across Industries (also called Business and Industrial), Government (Law & Government), Academia (Science), and Civil Society (People and Society). This empirical study elaborates on the global interest that these four groups of stakeholders have expressed on Artificial Intelligence (AI). This paper, analysing Big Data sourced from Google Trend Index over five years, describes and unpacks processes of transformation of interest in what we call the global landscape, as concerns AI. We present visualizations, comparisons, and statistical analyses, as well as classification, of how global interest levels as to AI differ or are the same across the Quadruple Helix stakeholder groups. Our findings represent a novel perspective on how the global landscape and innovation governance logic as to AI are configured, providing implications for governance of interactions across national innovation systems and civil society, in particular.
