Abstract
- A study conducted by the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina explores the use of cassava starch-based bioplastics in food packaging. The researchers specifically examined the effect of different plasticizers, such as glycerol and glycerol/water, on the properties of the bioplastics. Through various tests and analyses, they found that materials produced from cassava starch and 30% glycerol exhibited low water uptake capacity and a uniform structure, making them potentially suitable for food packaging applications. The research highlights the potential of renewable resources in promoting sustainability in packaging materials. [Extracted from the article]
