Abstract
- A new drug called nirsevimab has been shown to significantly reduce the risk of hospitalization for babies under 1 year old with Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). The drug acts like a vaccine, training the immune system to recognize and defend against RSV. However, there have been supply issues since the drug's approval, with limited availability for pediatricians and parents. In the meantime, parents can use traditional infection-control strategies to protect their babies from RSV. [Extracted from the article]
