Abstract
- The article discusses the synthesis of 3,3'-(phenylmethanediyl)bis(4-hydroxy-6-methyl-2H-pyran-2-one) derivatives using Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) as a catalyst. The researchers investigated the substrate scope and various parameters involved in the synthesis. The structure of the synthesized compounds was determined using spectroscopic techniques, and their biological activity was evaluated. The compounds showed effective results against bacterial activity and moderate inhibition against inflammation. Molecular docking studies were also conducted to determine the interaction of the compounds with the COX-2 receptor. The article provides insights into the potential of biocatalysis and the synthesis of pyran derivatives for various applications. [Extracted from the article]
