Abstract

This article discusses the mission of home economics from Japanese perspectives. It explores the concept of Society 5.0, which refers to the current stage of industrial revolution in Japan. The article highlights the challenges Japan faces in terms of digitization and technological advancement, including a lack of interest and awareness among the population. It also emphasizes the role of home economics in contributing to the establishment of a sustainable and human-centered society, as well as the importance of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
