Abstract
- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has banned ships flying the flag of Cameroon from entering its waters due to safety concerns. The ban is aimed at distancing the UAE from vessels that transport sanctioned oil and have been assembled in risky ways. While most merchant ships sail under flags different from the countries they are owned or operated in, some vessels, including those in Russia's shadow fleet, have turned to lesser-known flags like Cameroon's. The ban does not apply to ships assessed by international classification bodies. [Extracted from the article]
