ANTIFUNGAL ANTIBIOTICS IN CLINICAL MEDICINE.

The article discusses a paper entitled "Antifungal Antibiotics in Clinical Medicine," by Harvey Blank. Antifungal antibiotics prepared from the streptomycetes containing a polyene chromophore chemical group appear of clinical value or promise. Nystatin, amphotericin and trichomycin have been used and appear to work in a comparable manner. Oral administration has been disappointing and gives rise to undesirable side effects.
