Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers from the University of Detroit focused on the self-assessed oral health of seniors in Detroit. The study aimed to gather information about seniors' opinions on their oral health status and satisfaction with past dental care. The majority of participants were African American, female, and between the ages of 65 and 85. The study found that over half of the seniors reported their oral health as fair or poor, and a significant number had not been to a dentist in over two years. The researchers suggest that a community-based program accessible to seniors could improve access to preventive dental care for this population. [Extracted from the article]
