Abstract

The article focuses on addressing the limited genetic studies of sarcoidosis-related pulmonary fibrosis (SPF) in individuals of African descent (AAs), with a particular emphasis on the lack of representation in previous studies. Topics include the leading cause of mortality in sarcoidosis, risk factors for pulmonary fibrosis, and the importance of conducting a whole-genome scan (WGS) to identify African-derived risk variants associated with SPF in underrepresented populations.
