Abstract

The article explores the problem of high-volume noise pollution caused by the use of loudspeakers and DJ boxes during festivals in rural areas of West Bengal, India. This issue has become a significant public health crisis, impacting the well-being of the community. Research indicates that the noise levels exceed recommended limits, leading to various health problems. Despite existing regulations, there is a lack of enforcement, and the misuse of these devices has become a cultural phenomenon. The article calls for stricter regulations, a ban on high-volume speakers, and the involvement of government and non-government organizations to address this environmental threat.
