Abstract

The Journal of Plant Ecology (JPE) established the JPE Best Paper awards in 2022 to recognize papers with high impacts in the field of plant ecology. The awards are given annually to two to five papers selected by the editors based on novelty and contributions to the field. Emphasis is placed on authors who have completed their graduate studies within five years prior to submission. The winners receive a certificate and a prize of Chinese RMB 5000. This year, three papers were selected as the winners, covering topics such as sexual differences in plant responses to stress, changes in soil microbial communities following degradation in grasslands, and the effects of nitrogen addition on plant biomass allocation. The authors of these papers are Miao Liu, Yang Yu, and Kai Yue, who are all researchers in the field of plant ecology. [Extracted from the article]
