Abstract
- A recent study published in the journal Science used genomic analysis to trace the origins of seized pangolin scales in Hong Kong. The study found that pangolins for Asian markets were sourced from West and Central Africa. The research team overcame challenges by creating a reference database of white-bellied pangolin genomic data and analyzing seized scales from Asia. The study highlights the importance of international cooperation in combating illegal wildlife trade and provides valuable information for conservation efforts. [Extracted from the article]
