Abstract

A report from Northeast Agricultural University in Harbin, China discusses the development and evaluation of a bivalent vaccine for Newcastle disease (ND) and infectious bursal disease (IBD), two viral diseases that are harmful to the poultry industry. The researchers developed a vaccine called rClone30-VP2L-CH3-CH4-GMCSF, which was tested on specific pathogen-free (SPF) chickens. The results showed that the vaccine stimulated a stronger immune response and increased antibody levels compared to other vaccines. However, the addition of CH3-CH4 did not improve the vaccine's immune effect as expected. The research lays the foundation for developing vaccines for other viral diseases.
