Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at the University of Pisa in Italy examined computed tomographic (CT) findings in rabbits and guinea pigs with dental pathologies. The study found that dental abnormalities of mandibular teeth were the most common in both species, with aggressive bone lesions being frequently observed in rabbits and bulging around the roots of the teeth in guinea pigs. In addition, nasal cavity abnormalities and exophthalmos were also observed in rabbits. The researchers concluded that CT examination is valuable in detecting secondary alterations caused by dental pathologies in both rabbits and guinea pigs. [Extracted from the article]
