Abstract

A study conducted by researchers from the University of Southern California (USC) focused on pressure injuries (PrI) in individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI). The study aimed to collect and reconcile PrI data to improve prevention and wound care. The research found that medical records were the most sensitive data source for detecting PrIs, followed by scheduled skin checks. The study concluded that when using multiple sources of information, careful reconciliation of reports is necessary for accuracy. This research has been peer-reviewed and is available in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. [Extracted from the article]
