Abstract
- A recent report from the Mayo Clinic discusses the evaluation and management of sudden death risk in patients with repaired tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital heart defect. While progress has been made in preventing sudden cardiac death in these patients, ventricular arrhythmia and sudden death remain significant causes of morbidity and mortality. The report highlights the importance of noninvasive risk stratification to identify patients who may benefit from interventions such as catheter ablation or cardioverter defibrillator implantation. The authors emphasize the need for a multidisciplinary approach to assess individual patients and discuss treatment options with them and their families. [Extracted from the article]
