Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at National Taiwan University aimed to estimate the prevalence of sleep disorders in children with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The study included 12 studies with 595 children and found that sleep disorders are common in children with CKD. The prevalence rates of various sleep disorders were higher in children on dialysis compared to those not on dialysis, with excessive daytime sleepiness being statistically significant in children on dialysis. However, the selected papers had limitations such as small sample size, lack of a control group, and substantial heterogeneity. [Extracted from the article]
