Abstract
- This article, titled "Totally laparoscopic management of inferior mesenteric artery injuries in colorectal surgery – a video vignette," discusses the laparoscopic repair of major vascular injuries during colorectal surgery. Major vascular injuries are a serious complication that can occur during laparoscopy, and they can be fatal. The article presents three cases of laparoscopic management of inferior mesenteric artery injuries, demonstrating the technique used to control bleeding and repair the injuries. The authors emphasize the importance of attempting laparoscopic repair before resorting to laparotomy, as laparoscopic control offers advantages even though repair through a laparotomy may be technically easier.
