Abstract

This article provides a detailed account of the synthesis and characterization of pyridinium salts derived from hydroxymethyl-containing compounds. The researchers conducted bioactivity tests on the synthesized salts and found that some of them exhibited strong antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi. The study suggests that these salts have the potential to be developed into new antimicrobial drugs, but further research is needed to fully explore their properties. The research was conducted by scientists from Kazan Federal University and Kazan State Medical Academy in Russia. [Extracted from the article]
