Abstract

This document explores the challenges faced by mentees in the field of Tobacco Regulatory Science (TRS) and emphasizes the importance of mentorship in addressing these challenges. It highlights the need for diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) in training and mentorship to achieve TRS objectives. The article discusses various challenges, including bias and polarization, funding uncertainty, and research scope considerations, and provides case scenarios and potential approaches to addressing these challenges. It emphasizes the role of mentors in supporting mentees' professional growth and navigating their career paths.
