Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital in Tamil Nadu, India, examined the prevalence of osteoarthritic changes in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). The study found that the occurrence of degenerative changes in the TMJ is higher in females and increases with age. The most common changes observed were flattening, thinning, erosion, osteophyte, and sclerosis. The research highlights the importance of CBCT in diagnosing degenerative changes in the TMJ while minimizing radiation exposure. [Extracted from the article]
