Abstract
- A patent has been issued to the University of Michigan for compositions and methods related to the delivery of biomacromolecule agents, such as peptides and nucleic acids, for cancer vaccines. The patent describes the development of nanodiscs that can efficiently deliver these agents to the site of action and generate strong immune responses. The nanodiscs have been shown to elicit greater frequency of cytotoxic T lymphocytes compared to soluble vaccines and other adjuvants. This approach has significant clinical importance and can be adapted for personalized cancer vaccines and other personalized therapeutics. [Extracted from the article]
