A study conducted at the Hospital of Piacenza in Italy examined the effectiveness and safety of minimally invasive procedures for the treatment of cholecystocholedocholithiasis, a condition involving gallstones in the gallbladder and bile ducts. The study focused on endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided procedures such as EUS-guided gallbladder drainage (EUS-GBD), EUS-guided rendezvous (EUS-RV), and EUS-guided biliary drainage (EUS-BD), as well as cholangioscopy-guided electrohydraulic lithotripsy (CS-EHL). The results showed that these procedures were highly effective and safe for patients with acute cholecystitis who were unfit for surgery and for those who had experienced previous treatment failures.
