Abstract
- A new paper published in Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence explores the question of whether an AI system can be "too good." The paper discusses the potential risks and liabilities that may arise when AI systems in the food industry reveal information such as potential contamination with pathogens. The authors argue for a temporary "on-ramp" that would allow companies to adopt AI while considering the benefits, risks, and ways to mitigate them. The research was supported by grants from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture, and the AI Institute for Next Generation Food Systems is funded by the National Science Foundation.
