Abstract

Kathleen Folbigg, who was convicted of killing her four children, has been released from prison after serving 20 years of her sentence. An inquiry found reasonable doubt as to her guilt after new scientific evidence suggested that her children may have died of natural causes. While she is now free, Kathleen is still seeking a full exoneration and the return of her name and compensation. She is adjusting to life outside of prison, but the legacy of her institutionalization and the loss of her children continue to affect her. Despite the challenges, Kathleen remains hopeful for the future and is looking forward to celebrating Christmas with her best friend, Tracy Chapman. [Extracted from the article]
