Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Chongqing University Cancer Hospital in China explored the expression of cyclin D1 protein in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). The researchers analyzed clinical, immunohistochemical, and genetic features of 815 DLBCL patients and found that 2.61% of them exhibited cyclin D1 expression without gene rearrangements. These cyclin D1-positive DLBCL patients showed aggressive clinical behavior and inferior survival outcomes compared to those without cyclin D1 expression. Next-generation sequencing revealed potential associations between cyclin D1 expression and abnormal cell cycle transition and AKT pathway activation. The study suggests the existence of a diagnostically challenging "gray zone" of DLBCL associated with cyclin D1 expression. [Extracted from the article]
