Abstract

A new study on acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has been published, focusing on the demographics and treatment modalities of AML patients in Turkey. The study included 906 adult AML patients from 25 sites in Turkey and found that the most common subtypes of AML were M4, M2, M5, and M1. The study also examined treatment outcomes and found that median overall survival was 22.7 months for the entire population. The researchers noted that access to targeted and novel agents, as well as cytogenetic laboratory services, could potentially improve outcomes for AML patients. [Extracted from the article]
