Abstract

Researchers at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, India have developed potential alternative metallodrugs for cancer treatment. The study focuses on the synthesis of complexes of 1-picolinoyl-4-phenyl-3-thiosemicarbazide (H2ppts) with nickel and cobalt. The synthesized complexes were characterized and their fluorescence intensity and stability were evaluated. The anticancer activity of the complexes was tested on Dalton's Lymphoma cells, with complex 1a showing significant reduction in cell viability. The research concludes that complex 1a has high anti-neoplastic activity at low doses. [Extracted from the article]
