Abstract

Researchers from Zhejiang University of Technology in Hangzhou, China have developed a paper-based 3D SERS immunoassay array for the ultrasensitive and highly stable detection of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), which is important for the early diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The array combines self-assembled AuNBPs@Ag nanorods, filter paper, and sandwich immunoassay. The sensor exhibited a wide linear range, low detection limit, good specificity, and high signal reproducibility. This research provides a new avenue for the fabrication of stable SERS substrates and their application in the early diagnosis of cancer. [Extracted from the article]
