Abstract

A recent report discusses research conducted by RUDN University in Moscow, Russia, on the use of nano-liposomes of thyme essential oil in promoting growth performance, antioxidant capacity, and immune responses in Nile tilapia fingerlings. The study found that diets containing thyme essential oil nano-liposomes significantly improved growth rate, intestinal enzyme activities, post-challenge survival, plasma lysozyme and complement activities, antioxidant capacity, and disease resistance in the fish. The researchers concluded that dietary supplementation with 50-100 mg/kg of thyme essential oil nano-liposomes could be a beneficial feed additive in tilapia culture. [Extracted from the article]
