Abstract
- This article examines the development of professional school cultures and the significance of self-awareness and professional trust in creating a positive learning environment. It introduces The Buzz Cultural Model, which categorizes different levels of school culture and emphasizes collective growth mindset, compelling environment, and authentic dialogue. The article also discusses The Buzz Diagnostic Tool, which evaluates educators' perceptions of their school culture and offers valuable insights for schools to assess and make strategic decisions. Key themes explored include teacher self-perception and awareness, the shift from individual contributions to a collective culture, the interplay of trust and dialogue, and the impact of leadership. The article underscores the importance of fostering collective professional learning cultures in schools, highlighting the distinction between schools that prioritize individual statements and those that prioritize collective statements. Trust and dialogue are identified as critical components of effective professional learning cultures, with deep dialogue and open conversations promoting trust and collaboration. The article emphasizes the role of leadership in shaping school culture and concludes that cultivating a collective approach, nurturing trust, and effective leadership are essential elements in achieving positive educational transformation.
