Abstract
- Southwest Airlines has increased its revenue outlook for the fourth quarter due to higher travel demand and ticket prices during the holiday season. The airline now expects a decline in revenue for each seat flown a mile of no more than 10%, compared to the previous expectation of up to an 11% drop. However, this adjustment falls short of the guidance boost offered by rival JetBlue Airways. Despite the positive holiday period, Southwest's shares declined before regular trading in New York. The company also continues to face elevated costs, with a slight increase in its outlook for jet fuel prices. [Extracted from the article]
