Abstract
- The article discusses the Hackney horse and pony, highlighting their history, characteristics, and current status. The Hackney breed originated in England in the 1700s and gained popularity as a driving horse. However, with the decline of horses as transportation, the breed faced challenges. Today, the Hackney is known for its charisma, presence, and adaptability, making it a popular choice for young riders. While the population of Hackney ponies remains strong, the population of Hackney horses is less than 500. The American Hackney Horse Society offers various programs and opportunities for youth members to engage with the breed. [Extracted from the article]
