A new study conducted by researchers at Beijing Tongren Hospital in China examined the effects of pegfilgrastim on febrile neutropenia (FN) in pediatric and adolescent cancer patients. The study found that there was no significant difference in the rate of FN between pegfilgrastim and filgrastim in children receiving chemotherapy. However, the use of pegfilgrastim was associated with rates of FN, grade 4 FN, severe neutropenia, and treatment delays in pediatric cancer patients.
