Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Chettinad Hospital and Research Institute in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, explored the impact of occupational stress on the physical and mental health of IT professionals. The study found that workplace stress can lead to absenteeism, reduced productivity, and financial difficulties among employees. The research involved 364 participants and revealed that 81.9% of software professionals experienced moderate stress levels. Factors such as age, years of experience, and hours spent working on computers were found to contribute to higher stress levels, while engaging in exercise and hobbies was associated with lower stress levels. The study suggests that coping strategies and regular health education should be recommended to mitigate the development and consequences of stress. [Extracted from the article]
