Abstract

A recent report from the University of Karachi in Pakistan discusses the chemical composition and antioxidant activity of different species of Nepeta, commonly known as catmints or catnips. The study used gas chromatography-mass spectrometry to identify 42 compounds in the species, and found that all of them exhibited high antioxidant activity. The researchers suggest that further investigation is needed to explore the potential therapeutic applications of these natural products. The report provides valuable insights into the medicinal properties of Nepeta species and their potential as a source of novel drugs. [Extracted from the article]
