Red flaging unscientific prescriptions in dermatophytosis: An overview.

Dermatophytosis has acquired an epidemic-like proportion, fuelling a wide gamut of irrational, unethical and unscientific prescriptions. The menace can be attributed to poorly regulated legislative laws controlling the approval of molecules, unscientific marketing gimmicks by the pharmaceutical industry, over-the-counter availability of drugs and lack of awareness and knowledge among the prescribing physicians.
