Abstract

The article presents the development of a case selection score (CSS) called the Endoscopic Mucosal Resection Case Selection Score (EMR-CSS) for endoscopists undergoing training in conventional colonic EMR. The CSS incorporates factors such as lesion size, morphology, and challenging location to predict the risk of technical failure or adverse events during the procedure. The study found that the EMR-CSS accurately identified high-risk lesions in the validation cohort, suggesting that it can be used to guide case selection and improve the accuracy of competency markers for EMR trainees.
