Synthesis and electrochemical properties of coordination polymer of silicotungstic heteropoly acid based on Ag+ metal center.

Abstract

In this work, a coordination polymer material ([Ag<subscript>4</subscript>(BPB) <subscript>4</subscript>SiW<subscript>12</subscript>O<subscript>40</subscript>]) (Complex 1) based on silicotungstic heteropoly acid (H<subscript>4</subscript>SiWi<subscript>11</subscript>O<subscript>40</subscript>) and silver ion metal center was synthesized by hydrothermal synthesis method. The single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis showed that there were three kinds of silver ions Agl, Ag2 and Ag3 with coordination numbers of 2, 3, and 4, respectively. The Ag metal center is coordinated with N of the organic ligands and O of the polyacids. Ag1 connects organic ligands to form left-and right-handed helical chains, and connects polyacid molecules to form trapezoidal chains; Ag2 connects organic ligands and polyacid molecules to form a two-dimensional 4,4-sql lattice layer, sharing polyacid molecules with trapezoidal chains; Ag3 connects organic ligands to form one-dimensional chain through the two-dimensional layer, ultimately forming the overall three-dimensional structure. The electrochemical performance of the material was studied using a composite modified glassy carbon lectrode (GCE) as the working electrode, and electrochemical analysis showed that the material can used as an electrocatalyst for the reduction of NaNO<subscript>3</subscript>.
