Abstract

A study led by researchers at University College London (UCL) has found that perimenopausal women need better education and support regarding changes in their menstrual cycles. The research, published in Post Reproductive Health, interviewed 31 perimenopausal women aged between 40 and 55 in the UK. The women reported experiencing unpredictable periods, changes in cycle length, heavier periods, and worse premenstrual symptoms. They expressed the need for support in managing these changes, including workplace accommodations, emotional support from family and friends, and access to support groups. UCL is planning to launch the UK's first menopause education and support program in partnership with two charities. [Extracted from the article]
