Abstract

Researchers at Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University in China have published new data on personalized medicine in the field of lung cancer. The study focuses on poorly differentiated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and its rare complication of small intestine metastasis. The researchers conducted genetic profiling of biopsy samples from primary pulmonary lesions and small intestine metastases in two male patients. They identified mutations in genes such as TP53, LRP1B, and FGFR2, which are correlated with the occurrence and progression of poorly differentiated NSCLC and its small intestinal metastasis. This discovery has the potential to guide clinicians in developing personalized treatment plans using targeted and radiation therapies. [Extracted from the article]
