Abstract

A new report discusses research findings on atrial fibrillation (AF), a type of heart disorder. The research suggests that the simultaneous activation of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems is important for the initiation of AF, but an imbalance in the sympathetic system is characteristic of autonomic remodeling in long-standing persistent AF. The study explores the link between cardiac autonomic and metabolic remodeling and the potential roles of different autonomic modulation strategies in managing AF. The research has been peer-reviewed and provides valuable insights into the understanding and treatment of AF. [Extracted from the article]
